Members of the United States military make huge sacrifices for the rest of us when they put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms. Their families make huge sacrifices as well, as they have to be separated from their loved ones for long periods of time during which they often don’t know if the person they love is safe or not.

Army Captain Eric Morski’s 10 year-old daughter Iliana knows this all too well.

When her father is deployed, Iliana video chats with him every chance she gets. Last year, Eric was deployed to Nepal for six months before Christmas, and his little girl missed him dearly.

When Christmas finally came around, Iliana thought she would have to spend the holiday simply video chatting with her father. Instead, her father and mother Meredith had a huge surprise planned for their daughter.

Unbeknownst to Iliana, Eric snuck into his family’s home in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which is where they are stationed.

“She was upstairs in her room about to go to sleep when I told her he wanted to Facetime her before she went to bed, like they normally do,” Meredith said. “Little did she know that he would be Facetiming her from downstairs.”

Meredith captured the entire thing on video, and we would suggest that you have some tissues handy before you watch it!

Iliana’s reaction to her father’s surprise could not have been any more adorable. It’s clear that she loves her father very much!

Check out her reaction for yourself below!
