Princess Beatrice is in mourning after the death of her beloved dog Orange, who was a Norfolk Terrier.

Beatrice was forced to have the dog put down after he was poisoned from eating a mysterious substance while on a walk in Windsor Great Park. Beatrice, 30, immediately rushed the 5 year-old dog to the veterinarian’s office, but the vets could not identify what he had eaten. This left Beatrice with no choice but to put the dog to sleep.

It is not known if Orange came upon a naturally poisonous substance, or if it had been deliberately poisoned. This has left Beatrice terrified for her four other dogs, Jack, Cici, Teddy and Ginger.

“Obviously Beatrice is keeping a close eye on her other pets,” a source said.

All of her dogs live with her father Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge within Windsor Great Park, where Beatrice herself also lives part of the year. Immediately after Orange’s death, Beatrice jetted off to Kenya for a preplanned trip with her boyfriend, Edo.

“She’s loved up with Edo but couldn’t stop thinking about her dog. It’s very upsetting,” a friend said.
