T. Scott Marr had just turned 61 the day before his son found him unresponsive in his Nebraska home. Scott was still breathing, but he was unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support in intensive care.
Doctors believed that he suffered from a major stroke, and the next day he didn’t appear to be getting better. In fact, they thought he had brain swelling and he would never recover. They told his children that there was nothing else they could do for his father. That’s when his children had to make a devastating decision. They told the doctors to pull the plug.
“He had always said, ‘I never want you guys to see me lying in a hospital bed, lying in a nursing home,'” said Scott’s daughter, Preston Marr. So they said their goodbyes to their father and waited by his side.
Scott’s children, Preston, Lauren, Ryan, and Drew sat by their father’s side, held his hand, and cried. They thought they’d never hear his voice again. They had even scheduled an appointment to plan his funeral. Luckily, the next day, Scott was still alive. The hospital called and asked them to come back. Preston was the first one to arrive at the hospital. What he saw was nothing short of a miracle.

“I went in just to talk to him like we have been this whole time and I said, ‘Hi dad’ and he smiled at me,” said Preston. She thought she was dreaming.
Doctors couldn’t believe what was happening either. They started doing more tests and found out that he hadn’t had a stroke. Instead, he was suffering from a rare condition called posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome.
Scott doesn’t remember losing consciousness and only remembers waking up in the hospital and seeing all his family. He is now referred to as the “miracle man” and he gives all the credit to God.
“I did not die. I didn’t have to die. I’m back here, and I hope to give people some comfort and hope that if they are in fact going through anything like that, that it’s a safe place,” he says. “This whole thing has been a miracle from God.”

Scott doesn’t remember much about his time at the hospital, but he does remember a vision while he was unconscious. He remembers seeing his father walking down the street, but his father died two years ago.
He says his father asked him what he was doing there, to which Scott replied, “I’m looking to work.” His father informed him there was no work there and he needed to go back home.

Scott says he has never been a real religious man, but he says the experience has given him a whole new perspective on his life. He still tears up reading the articles about him and believes his time on earth isn’t done yet.
