Abby Roach is a 37-year-old musician who uses spoons to create stunning melodies.

Equipped with only spoons and a passion for music, Abby takes the stage over and over again to give performances that are like no other.

Known as “The Spoon Lady,” Abby travels the country performing with just her spoons and a bell by her feet.

She performs with her musical partner and one-man band, Chris Rodrigues, who is incredibly talented in his own right.

Abby once made her living performing on the streets for money, hitching rides from city to city on freight trains.

After taking the wrong train one day, Abby ended up in Asheville, North Carolina, which is where she now mainly stays.

In the video below, you’ll see Abby and Chris perform the song “Angels In Heaven.”

Their performances are meant to promote both street performing and freedom of speech, which is very important to both of them.

When she is not performing, Abby is busy with her radio show and project “Busker Broadcast” in which she compiles songs and interviews of travelers who pass by the town of Asheville.

Abby is living proof that you don’t need to learn how to play a complicated instrument to make music. All you need are some spoons and some passion!
