Babies and toddlers can often be shy when they are in crowds. Though they are bouncing off the walls at home, being in crowds typically takes some getting used to for them.

This is why it came as a big surprise when 3 year-old Drake Grillo agreed to sing the national anthem in front of thousands of people at a recent Syracuse Women’s basketball game. Though some feared that nerves would get the best of him, they realized that they had nothing to worry about as soon as he opened his mouth!

The crowd went wild for Drake’s talent, and it’s no wonder that Syracuse ended up winning the game by fifty points!

In the video, you’ll see Drake grab a microphone to sing in front of 6,000 people in the Carrier Dome. The crowd was amazed that this little boy not only knew all the words to “The Star Spangled Banner,” but was also able to sing it so beautifully!

Drake ended up breaking a record for the stadium, as he is the youngest person to ever perform there!

“I just think he’s too little to realize how big of a deal it is,” said Chelsea, the boy’s mother. “We just try to stay calm for him and not really talk it up. We don’t ask him if he’s nervous, so then maybe he won’t think of that. I don’t think he really knows what nervous is yet.”

Singing and performing are not the only things that Drake loves to do. He also loves sports and takes a great deal of pride in the United States. He has so much patriotism that “The Star Spangled Banner” is actually his favorite song!
