Sometimes looks aren’t what they seem, or so says a woman that shared this story about her experience while working at a grocery store. She explained that although her manager is 6’3″ and looks intimidating, he is actually a kind-hearted being.

The employee had only been working for a few months at the grocery store when a woman walked in looking like she had a rough day or two. In tow were two small children, around 2 and 5 in age. She asked to speak to the store manager.

She overheard what the mother was talking to the store manager about. Apparently, the mother had managed to escape her abusive husband and recently moved into an apartment, but had no money to get groceries.

Her children were hungry and she was desperate for help. The store manager told her to go fill her cart with food and then bring her cart to the check out aisle. He also told her to grab some hot food from the deli for her and her children.

About a half hour passed and the woman came to her check out line. She called the manager to the register who then pulled out his wallet and paid for everything in the mother’s cart as well as for the hot meals.

Before leaving, he turned to the cashier and asked her to come to his office while the woman was told to wait there. The manager asked the cashier to help the woman take the groceries to her car and give her a piece of paper that he had written a note on.

When the cashier was done helping her unload the groceries, she handed the mother the note. When the mother read the note, she began crying. The note explained that he was sorry for the position she was in.

If she needed a job he could help her by giving her a position there at the store, and if she needed help getting child care to give him a call and he would get that set up for her.

A few days later, the woman showed up at the store to work and has been working there ever since. The cashier says stories like this are the reason she loves her job and believes she has the best manager in the world.

I think I might just agree with her. What do you think? Be sure to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends.
