Footage of a 2017 snow storm at the Oregon Zoo have resurfaced giving us a wonderful look into the world of animals and their reaction to snow.
It was January 2017, and Portland, Oregon, got hit with an unexpected snow storm that left everything covered with a foot of snow. Many of the businesses in the area were forced to close their doors for a few days, including the Oregon Zoo.
However, just because the zoo closes its doors to the public, that doesn’t mean that activity stops at the zoo entirely. In fact, the animals know that when the zoo is closed, it is a chance for them to play uninterrupted. Of course, some animals, like Nora the polar bear, are expected to enjoy a romp in the snow. She was one of the first to jump out the door and into the ice cold snow.

But it wasn’t just Nora that was excited about getting to play in the white stuff. The otters and sea lions also spent some time outdoors. Many of them even jumped out of the water to slide around in the snow on their bellies.
Other animals that you might not expect to enjoy the snow, like elephants, actually took a chance and found themselves frolicking in the snow too.

The zookeeper, who had to ski down the mountain to reach the zoo, got a sneak peek at just how much fun the animals were having. So check out the video below and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
