2018 is about to draw to a close, and to mark the occasion, we have compiled some of the best cleaning hacks that we found this year. Scroll through these and you’ll have some incredible cleaning hacks that you can use in the new year!

Paracetamol Tablet To Clean Iron

Few things are more annoying than having to remove the black scorch marks from your iron, but it turns out that all you need to clean it is a Panadol tablet.

“A Panadol tablet held in a pair of tweezers and rubbed on the hot iron plate,” one woman wrote in a popular Facebook group. To do this hack, the iron needs to be on maximum setting. Simply start rubbing the tablet on the hot surface, and the stains will begin to slide off!

Transform Your Floors With A Tomato Sauce Bottle And $10 Spray

A mother from Australia took to social media to reveal how a simple trick transformed her floors from grubby to sparkling in a matter of minutes.

“This was done in minimal time and with minimal effort,” she wrote. “I had no idea they were that filthy. I love it. I used Bunnings Long Life Grout Cleaner and applied it with an empty sauce bottle.”

This $10 bottle of cleaning solution states that it will “restore and revitalise grout between ceramic tiles, slate, terracotta, brick and masonry surfaces.”

“I poured the liquid into the empty, clean sauce bottle and followed the directions,” the woman wrote. “I then squirted into grout, left for a few minutes, lightly scrubbed with the long handle brush then mopped up residue with hot water and vinegar. It was very easy.”

Three Ingredient Soap Scum Removal

Another woman took to social media to talk about how difficult soap scum can be to remove, having tried “everything” to reduce the foggy effect on her glass shower door.

“Okay so I am never one to post on these sites… I always just secretly stalk them… But I need to share this,” she wrote. “I have tried SO MANY products to clean my shower glass and get the scum off… Exit Mould, Ajax bathroom spray, Koh, Ekoworx and their diamond sponge… and nothing worked. I saw a post tonight about using a dishwand with detergent and rinse aid and thought YOLO.”

“Just four squirts of dishwashing liquid and it said 30ml rinse aid but I didn’t have anything to measure so I just poured a bit in and added water until it was full,” she continued.
