A family recently walked into a Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Flower Mound, Texas and asked if they could sit at a booth that they had noticed was empty. When they were told that they could not be seated there, the family was confused at first, and even became a little bit annoyed.

However, it appeared that the table was reserved for a group of VIPs as the national American Flag and Texas state flags were adorning the wall in the background along with a beautiful white tablecloth draped on the tabletop. Five place settings and a sign on the table.

Once the family read the sign, they understood why the table was reserved. It was to honor five Dallas officers who were ambushed by a sniper in the line of duty.

A framed sign on the table read, “In Honor of the five fallen Dallas Police officers lost in the tragic event.”

Our condolences to the loved ones of the five slain police officers, Sergeant Michael J. Smith, Officer Michael Krol, Officer Patrick Zamarripa, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens and Mr. Brent Thompson, who worked for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department. We give thanks to these brave police officers who gave their lives protecting their community.

These days, police officers often don’t seem to get the respect that they deserve in this country, so we applaud Texas Roadhouse for paying tribute to these heroes in such a beautiful way.
