Sandi Fasano says the first time she cut into a wedding dress it wasn’t an easy task. It was a beautiful gown that had been part of someone’s big day and she was about to chop it to pieces. But it was for a good cause and Sandi knew that. She was getting ready to do something that she didn’t think anyone else ever did. She was going to make a wedding gown into angel gowns.

The gowns she made from the dress is for grieving parents to be able to dress their child possibly for the first time, but definitely for the last. The gowns are for little ones taken from this world too soon.

Sandi says she started Front Range Angel Gowns in 2015 after one of her children lost a child. She says she felt helpless and the last thing a family should have to do is go to a toy store to buy doll clothes to dress their baby in.

Now, Sandi is surprised at how many women willingly donate their gowns. Some donate due to the kindness of their hearts, others because it means something special to them. Justi Boroff is one of them that donated her gown to Sandi. She had just gotten married to the love of her life, and instead of stuffing it in the back of her closet, she decided to ship it to Sandi.

Sandi says that 17 little gowns were made from the dress and were shipped to the NICU at Vanderbilt. Justi says she hopes they are never needed.

Connie Sieverding heard of Sandi’s story and was so inspired that she started an organization called Angel Gowns  to help parents that have lost little ones just like Sandi does.
