A Christmas Story is one of the most popular Christmas classic movies of all time, and millions of families everywhere enjoy watching it every year. That’s why fans are excited that the owner of the house that was used in the movie is offering people the chance to spend the night there.

The Cleveland, Ohio home, which was used for the exterior shots in the 1983 movie, is owned by Florida resident Brian Jones. He spent years selling replica leg lamps from the movie, and he recently decided to buy the house himself.

“I just thought, ‘That is the opportunity of a lifetime right there. That won’t come along twice,'” Brian  said as he explained his thought process of buying the home. He added that he spent years remodeling the inside to look like the interior of the home in the film, which was shot on a sound stage.

“What I’ve tried to do is basically create the experience when you’re coming here, it feels like their house,” Brian said.

Fans can pay to stay in the home for the night, but over the busy Christmas season, it can cost as much as $3,000 to do so. Brian made sure to say that it costs far less to stay there during other times of year that are not as busy. The experience of staying in the A Christmas Story house is a fun one, according to Brian.

“You can sit on the couch, grab the leg lamp, crawl under the sink, do whatever. You get to basically play in the house,” he said.
