Phyllis Jones and Irene Crump celebrated their 102nd birthday on November 20, 2018. This makes them the oldest twins in the United Kingdom, and they’ve shared a few secrets as to why they have lived so long.

The twins were born in 1916 and say they’ve experienced a lot in their lifetime. They’ve seen 20 prime ministers, two world wars, and four monarchs in their time. However, despite living through so many different experiences, they say they don’t feel like they’re 102 years old. They don’t have any rheumatism or arthritis and feel really good.

The two sisters live together and get checked on by their family regularly. They have home attendants who help with their care, but the two say they feel really lucky to be as healthy as they are. Surprisingly, Phyllis and Irene say the key to living such a long life is booze. They admit that they love to drink, and that they don’t like to just drink one drink. They like two or three, and love Guinness.

Irene says she used to have a Guinness every night. Although the Queen didn’t give them Guinness for their birthday, Queen Elizabeth did send each sister a birthday card when they celebrated their 100th birthday.

The twins also say that in addition to a few good drinks, another key to living so long is eating well and exercising regularly. Check out the video below to see these amazing ladies in action.
