Kelly Clarkson got her start on American Idol and her recent performance took her back to that same stage leaving everyone, including her and the judges, in tears.

American Idol changed Clarkson’s life forever and she returned to the stage last season to sing one of her very own songs called “Piece by Piece.” She was pregnant which made the whole performance even more emotional. Watching Clarkson sing and maintain her composure throughout the song made it even harder for everyone to keep it together. Judge Keith Urban had tears streaming down his cheeks before it was all over.

Clarkson’s voice was absolutely beautiful and her touching vocals clearly touched the hearts of audience members and judges alike. Even people backstage were wiping away the tears. The song was co-written by Clarkson and Greg Kurstin and was based on her own personal experiences making the song that much more meaningful.

Clarkson even had to apologize to the crowd for being so overwhelmed by the emotional lyrics as she sang. By the end of the performance the audience was chanting her name and the judges, particularly Urban, were wiping away their tears.
