Carter Haslag is an 11-year-old kid from Green Ridge, Mo., a small town about an hour and a half southeast of Kansas City. He knows what it’s like to struggle in life. He sustained a head injury as a baby and has epilepsy. Those hardships have made him more empathetic than the average 11-year-old boy. So when he learned that his teacher was fighting stage 4 endometrial cancer, he wanted to help.

Carter says his little community is tight-knit and he loves doing things to help out his town. One day he hopes to be a farmer. He also has an unexpected talent that many people would never expect. Carter is an auctioneer. Because he loves animals and grew up on a farm raising them, he knows a lot about them. He also has a great sense of humor which has earned him a spot as a skilled auctioneer at local farm auctions.

The youngster decided to use this talent to help his teacher, Sue Kohues, because he couldn’t bear the thought of seeing her struggle. He organized an auction and gave all the proceeds to his beloved teacher.

Check out the video below to learn more about Carter’s heartwarming story and be sure to share it with your family and friends. We need more people like this kid in the world.
