For decades scientists have believed in one theory of evolution, but new research shows that this widely accepted theory of evolution may be completely wrong.

Instead of evolution, the new study claims that all humans are the descendants of two humans, just like what is described in the Bible. The scientists that conducted the study say that in addition, their study shows that a catastrophic event almost wiped out the entire human race about 100,000 years ago.

The study was conducted by two researchers, Mark Stoeckle and David Thaler, from the University of Basel in Switzerland. This duo also helped in a study that found that 90 percent of animals alive, including humans, came from a pair of parents just 250,000 years ago.

Thaler admits that he was shocked by the findings and fought against it as hard as he could. To gather the information, the scientists did genetic studies on five million animals from a variety of species, including humans.

Their study concluded that humans and animals all came from a single pair and it appeared to have happened after a catastrophic event that occurred after the ice age some 100,000 to 200,000 years ago. Stoeckle says that although people tend to focus a lot of how different we are, he believes we need to spend more time focusing on how much we have in common and with the animal kingdom.
