The California Camp Fire has been one of the most catastrophic and destructive disasters that the state has ever seen. Clearly it has been a hard time for the people that have lost their homes and loved ones.

So when one firefighter shared his story on Facebook it was nice to see a bit of joy among the devastation and chaos. The fireman was Ryan Coleman in Paradise, California.

He was surveying ruins left behind after the fire devastated the community when he came across an adorable little bundle of joy. The cat immediately ran up to him and clung to his leg desperate for attention. The grey cat crawled up his leg and Coleman picked her up. She immediately perched herself up on his shoulder and went for a ride as she went about her business.

The video Coleman shared was titled “Kitty Rescue” and has been shared thousands of times and has received over two million views since it has been shared. Before finding the cat, Coleman said he had just started his first shift on the scene and said he was willing to help out in any way that he could. He never expected his first rescue to be a cat.
