Phones have completely taken over our culture, and young people especially can’t seem to put their phones down, even for one second.

Parents everywhere are sick of their children always being on their phones, and in this video, one father and mother decide to teach their sons a lesson when they won’t stop texting at the table.

It’s very frustrating to be sitting at a table with your children, only to have them looking down at their phones the entire time. It’s especially rude if you have friends visiting who are also being ignored by your children as they text.

In this house, however, this dad won’t stand for texting at the table!

A recent study conducted by Deloitte, Americans found that people look at their smartphones around 52 times per day. Another study that was carried out by Virginia Tech found that using your phone during social situations like dinner can lead to missing a significant amount of human contact.

“Even without active use, the presence of mobile technologies has the potential to divert individuals from face-to-face exchanges, thereby undermining the character and depth of these connections,” the study concluded. “Individuals are more likely to miss subtle cues, facial expressions, and changes in the tone of their conversation partner’s voice, and have less eye contact.”
