Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip just celebrated a major milestone when they had their 71st wedding anniversary on Tuesday.

Elizabeth and Philip officially have the longest marriage ever in the history of the British monarch. The couple was married at Westminster Abbey in 1947, and they have been together ever since.

Elizabeth and Philip have actually known each other since 1934, when they met at the wedding of Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark and Prince George, the Duke of Kent.

Unfortunately, the Queen did not have time to celebrate with Philip on her anniversary, as she had an incredibly busy week. Tuesday was also the 150th anniversary of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in Parliament Square, and to mark the occasion, the Queen made a public appearance wearing a bright pink double-breasted coat with a matching hat.

During her appearance, the Queen locked a time capsule that will be opened on the Institutions 200th anniversary and met “Women of the Future” award winners.

The Queen is currently 91 while her husband Philip is 97. He retired from public duties last year.

We would like to wish the Queen and Prince Philip a happy anniversary, and we hope they have many more to come!
