When we get a toothache we tend to not think much of it. We take a bit of medicine and go about our business believing that it will simply get better and go away. Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. What may seem like a simple toothache can turn into something much more serious as one young man and his family found out the hard way.

Vadim Anatoliyevich Kondratyuk was a truck driver that was working his way to New York. He started having issues with a tooth and stopped in Oklahoma to see a dentist. The dentist cleaned the infection out of the tooth, gave Vadim some antibiotics, and sent him on his way. But by the time he reached California, the tooth had gotten much worse.

He was in a lot of pain and his face had swollen with infection. He was hurting so bad and had become so weak that his brother decided to drive him home. By the time they reached Utah, the brothers stopped at a hospital to have Vadim checked again. This time the news wasn’t good. The infection was no longer just in his mouth. It had spread.

The infection had reached Vadim’s lungs and was making it hard for him to breath. Nataliya, Vadim’s wife, said the doctors tried everything they could think of, but the infection couldn’t be stopped.

Finally, there were no options left and doctors broke the news to Vadim’s family that he wasn’t going to make it. That night, Vadim took his last breath.

Nataliya says that her husband was a healthy man other than being diabetic, and although she knows he is in Heaven and happy, she is now a single mother that will have to raise their two daughters on her own.

A GoFundMe account was set up for the family and has raised more than they had ever hoped for to help with expenses. Check out the video below to learn more about this heartbreaking story and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
