Bullying is something that millions of teenagers all over the world deal with every day. Overweight young people in particular often find themselves being targeted by obnoxious bullies who leave them deeply depressed.

Josephine Desgrand of Queensland, Australia is a young woman who knows all too well what it’s like to be bullied. Josephine found herself weighing 278 pounds when she was 16, and her weight left her feeling bogged down and unable to even start working out.

Josephine had been bullied by her peers at school for her weight for years, and the thought of graduating and entering the real world at her current weight left her terrified. That’s why Josephine decided to take action.

Josephine set a goal of fitting into a slim, slinky evening gown for her school’s prom. She knew that it was going to take a lot of hard work to fit into the dress, but she was willing to put in the time and effort.

Two years later, Josephine has managed to lose an astounding 138 pounds without even getting surgery!

Josephine took to Instagram to let others know how she was so successful in losing weight.

“I stuck to a low carb, no sugar diet for TWO WHOLE years,” she wrote. “I began to eat natural sugars about six months into my journey. In the first 12 months I lost 63kgs. I do not see this as a diet to lose weight, I see this as my new lifestyle change. In these two years I have faced some very difficult challenges but I have chosen to pick myself up and keep moving. Everybody has bad days, never let a stumble be the end of your journey.”

Josephine loves sharing diet and exercise tips to help others lose weight just as she did!

“Health isn’t just about what you’re eating and drinking,” she wrote. “It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying. Make your mental health a priority. Self-care is how you take your power back!”

Two years after Josephine began this journey, she accomplished her goal of fitting into her prom dress!
