Women’s rights have come a long way in the past few decades, and this was made all the more apparent when a cringeworthy magazine article about how to find a husband from the 1950s just resurfaced.

Kim Marx-Kuczynski came upon the 1958 article from McCall’s Magazine, and she found it to be so absurd that she just had to share it with the world.

“I bought a McCall’s magazine from 1958 because the cover advertised an article titled ‘129 Ways To Get A Husband,’ and it did not disappoint,” she wrote as she shared her find on Facebook. “The whole list is littered with WTF but my personal favorite (#40) has had me randomly busting into laughing fits since I read it three days ago.”

McCall’s received 404 suggestions of how best to seduce a man into marriage, and believe it or not, these were the 129 best suggestions in the eyes of the team at the magazine.

“The results were astonishing – a total of 404 suggestions! Some are tried and true but good to remember,” McCall’s wrote. “Some are new and daring enough to set the most sophisticated bachelor in a gyroscopic spin!”

Scroll through these and see which one is your favorite ridiculous suggestion!

Number 6 is something that has never occurred to me before!

Number 17 is one that we could all agree with!

Number 24…Ouch!

I cannot believe number 40 is a real suggestion!

Number 50…I guess practice makes perfect!

They even made a little rhyme for 72!

I guess now we’re getting now to the REALLY good advice!

Number 90 suggests that it’s always important to keep him on his toes. You wouldn’t want him to get too comfortable!

Number 104 is certainly an interesting strategy…

I have to say that number 113 had me laughing out loud!

They really finish out strong with number 129!
