Many of us have pets that we remember long after their time on earth has passed, but very few of us remember them by getting a tattoo in their honor. Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, however, had one dog that touched him so much that he had her name permanently tattooed on his arm in her honor.

Morgan, know for his roles on “Grey’s Anatomy”, “The Good Wife”, and “Walking Dead” says he was walking on Venice Beach in California when he saw a couple young kids selling puppies out of a cardboard box. He asked how much one of them would cost and they told him $300.

He says the dark colored one in the box looked very sick so he told them he didn’t think the dog would live and offered them a $20 bill. They accepted and he took her home.

The actor says he took the puppy to the vet, and surprisingly she made it through the night. He had to bottle feed her in the beginning because she was so small and unhealthy. Little by little she began to improve. His other dog, Bandit, seemed to take right to the pup and welcomed her into the family as well.

Bisou got her name, according to Morgan, because she would crawl and kiss around finding her way around the house. Bisou means kiss in French.

Bisou spent twelve years lovingly bonding with Morgan and the furry members of her family before she passed away of old age.

Morgan says she touched him so much that he got the tattoo in her honor and to keep her by his side forever. Bisou was so popular that she even appeared on television with Morgan a few times. Rest in peace Bisou!
