Wild horses are not as common as they were in the old days, but there still are some horses that roam free. Though they are wild, these horses need some help from humans.

Recently, the animal rescue group RSPCA got a call about a foal that was acting strangely, so they sent some of their volunteers to the scene to investigate.

The volunteers arrived to find a heartbreaking scene, as a mother horse had collapsed while her baby foal refused to leave her side. The foal was pacing back and forth nervously, powerless to save her mother’s life. The mother’s hoof had somehow gotten angled in her mane, and she had no way to get it loose.

The volunteers immediately realized how serious the situation was, and the baby foal had started to become frantic. Thankfully, the volunteers arrived before poachers were able to get to the scene and further harm the mother.

The volunteers approached the horse carefully, as they knew she was wild and therefore scared of humans. Eventually, they were able to get to her and cut her foot free from her mane!

Once her foot is free, the mother gets up and looks like she is about to trip. She is then able to catch herself, find her footing and run off with her baby foal!

The video has gone mega-viral, being viewed over five million times.

“Thank you for saving her, You sure made her baby happy.  What a beautiful little colt,” one social media user wrote, another adding, “That may be the cutest dang baby horse I’ve ever seen!!!”
