The British royal family is beloved by people all over the world, but it’s rare that we get an inside look at their private lives with each other. That’s why so many of us are excited about the new documentary about Prince Charles, which will give us a candid look at the royals as they celebrate his 70th birthday!
One touching scene in the documentary “Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70″ shows Charles gazing lovingly at his youngest grandchild, Prince Louis, who is being held by his mother, Kate Middleton. Louis giggles happily as Charles clutches his hands and plays with the baby boy.
Kate, who is wearing a blue and white polka dot dress, has a huge smile on her face as the two play.
Charles’ wife Camilla explained in the documentary that he is a hands-on grandfather who loves to play with his grandchildren.
“He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him,” she said. “He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that.”
When asked if Charles has time to be a grandfather, Prince William had a lot of praise for him.
“I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children,” William said. “I think he’s… now he’s reached his 70th year it’s a perfect time to consolidate a little bit cause as most families would do, you are worried about having them around and making sure their health’s okay, and he’s the fittest man I know but equally I want him to be fit until he’s 95 you know going on. ”
“So, having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to you know play around, err, with the grandchildren,” he added. “Cause when he’s there, he’s brilliant. But we need him there as much as possible.”
It’s nice to see this other side of Prince Charles! Check out a trailer for this documentary below!
