Employees of Goodwill stores all over the United States are used to finding all kinds of things when they look in the donations box. However, they’ve certainly never seen anything like this before!

Workers at a Goodwill store in Fort Worth, Texas were stunned recently to find a living boa constrictor snake in their donations box! The albino snake was found by Tassy Rodgers, who works in donations processing.

“I was tipping this machine, and when I brought the bin back the snake was hanging over the edge,” Tammy said. “I was a little freaked out and thinking this cannot be fake; it’s gotta be real.”

Miraculously, Tammy was able to maintain her composure when she saw the snake.

“She was very surprised, but stayed calm and asked coworkers to come assist her,” said Goodwill spokeswoman Liz Confiliano.

James Murphy, the assistant manager of the Goodwill store, said that it is not known whether the snake was left in the box intentionally or not.

“I don’t know if someone may have [dropped it off] maliciously,” he said. “Maybe they wanted to get rid of it and weren’t quite sure how, or maybe it just wanted to get warm. It was in a pile of clothing.”

Ironically, James happens to be an experienced snake owner, so he is fostering the snake until officials can find the owner!

We can only imagine how this snake ended up in this donations bin, but we’re glad to see that the creature is being well taken care of. Find out more about this in the video below!
