Filipino singer Marcelito Pomoy has become an international sensation due to his ability to both hit high notes and also make his voice sound soothingly deep.
He’s become so popular that he caught the attention of talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who knew that she just had to have him on her program!

Ellen’s team reached out to Marcelito, who grew up homeless in the Philippines. The singer had always dreamed of being on Ellen’s show, but when he first saw the messages, he was not sure if they were real.
“Actually, I wasn’t really expecting it,” Marcelito said with the help of a translator. “Then someone sent me a Facebook message from EllenTV.com. [Even after] we [talked on] Skype, I still didn’t believe it. Then I got my ticket saying I’m going to Ellen.”
Before he knew it, Marcelito was on his way to Ellen’s studio in Los Angeles!

Marcelito first performed the song “The Prayer,” and he immediately won the audience over with his powerful vocals.
Marcelito wasn’t done yet! After bringing the house down with his first song he brought everyone including Ellen to tears with “Beauty And The Beast!” It’s safe to say that Ellen and her fans were all new Marcelito fans by the time this second performance was over.
After his second performance, Ellen surprised Marcelito by giving him a trip to see Celine Dion, who is his idol! You have to see Marcelito’s face when he hears that Ellen will be making this dream come true!
