While some people like to focus on the darker side of Halloween, this story is proof that there are as many treats out there as there are tricks when Halloween rolls around each year.
We’ve all been to houses where a bowl of candy is left on the front porch for trick or treaters to take a couple sweet snacks with them, only to discover that the bowl has already been emptied.
That was what happened to Hayden Chapple in Idaho Falls last year. He had stepped up on the Robertson family’s porch and read the sign that said ” “Do a trick and take a treat! And smile – you’re on camera.”
But Hayden thought the camera part was just to deter kids from stealing the candy. However, he was wrong. The family had left the bowl out for trick or treaters while they took their own kids around town.
They planned to watch the footage of the trick or treaters when they got home because they love seeing the silly faces and smiles that the youngsters make.
Sadly, before Hayden got there, another kid had emptied the bowl into his bag. So when Hayden saw the empty bowl, he did a little trick off the porch and started to head to the next house.
However, he realized that another group of trick or treaters was headed up to the porch. Not wanting them to go without, he quickly ran back up on the porch and left some of his own candy in the bowl for them to find.

The Robertson family couldn’t believe what he did and quickly shared his good deed on social media. Hayden’s mom says she is very proud of her son for his good deed, but not all that surprised. She stated this type of behavior is typical of him. What a great kid!
