The Markle family drama took yet another turn this week when it was revealed that Thomas Markle has asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to help him reunite with his estranged daughter, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. In addition, he is considering launching a legal battle to ensure that he will have access to the grandchild that Meghan is carrying.
“He strongly believes the baby should be as much a part of his life as they will be Prince Charles’s,” a source said, referring to the baby’s other grandmother. “Thomas says the Markle blood will be as much in the child’s veins as the ‘blue blood’ of the royals and he has ‘rights.’ He admits mistakes but with Meghan pregnant, he is desperate to heal the rift. Thomas has reached out to Kensington Palace more so since news of Meghan’s pregnancy broke, hoping the baby will be what finally breaks their estrangement.”

Thomas has not spoken to Meghan since the day after she married Prince Harry back in May, and he allegedly only learned about her pregnancy from the car radio. Sources say that Thomas is hoping that the child will be named after him if he is a boy.
If Thomas does launch a legal battle, it will certainly be an uphill one for him. Not only will he be up against the royal family, the laws in the United Kingdom would not be in his favor. In the U.K., grandparents have no legal rights to see their grandchildren, so it is completely up to the parents of the child to determine visitations.
Once again, if Thomas really does want to see his grandchild, perhaps he should stay quiet for awhile, stop talking to the press, and stop causing problems for his daughter.
