The Invictus Games is an athletic tournament for injured and disabled veterans that was just held in Sydney, Australia, this week. While the event itself is special, something even more extraordinary took place earlier this week.
The match featured tennis players Paul Guest and Edwin Vermetten competing against an American team. The game seemed to be going as planned, that is, until a helicopter flew overhead.
Guest, who served in the British Armed Forces, is bound to a wheelchair due to spinal and neck injuries he sustained in combat. He also suffers from PTSD, so when the helicopter flew over, he was filled with anxiety.
That’s when Vermetten came to his rescue. He knew his teammate was upset so he stopped play immediately and went to comfort his distraught teammate.
Vermetten revealed that he sang the hit song “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen to his teammate to get him to relax and “let it go.” Guest went on to serve the winning hit for he and his teammate after overcoming the anxiety.

The crowd was overcome with compassion for the display of support the teammates showed each other through the traumatic portion of the match. Congratulations to these two men for being such amazing examples! Be sure to share their story with your family and friends.
