It’s not every day that we get to have an up close and personal experience with a whale, but when we do, it can be life changing. That is exactly what happened to one diver off the French Polynesian coast.

Australian photographer, Eamon Porter was flying his drone out over the water and filmed a mother humpback whale with her baby. The mother appeared to be sleeping and the baby likely just a few weeks old.

That’s when he spotted something extremely unusual. Not far away from the baby whale and it’s mother were two divers. While the baby had been staying close to it’s mother, when it saw the divers it became curious.

Little by little, the baby humpback swims slowly away from it’s mother, and before long, it is right up close to the divers. But when it got close to them, what the baby did was exceptional.

It turned over onto it’s back and used it’s pectoral fin to scoop up one of the divers and lay her on it’s belly. This is one diver that certainly had an interaction with a whale that most of us could only ever dream of having.

After playing with the divers a bit, the baby whale turns back over and works it’s way back to it’s sleeping mother. Check out the amazing video footage below and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
