Earlier this month, people all over the world were ecstatic when it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child. Though the gender of the baby has not yet been revealed, Harry has just announced what he is hoping the baby will be.
Though Harry and Meghan are currently on a tour of Australia, sources say that they will likely soon cut back their duties.
“After a busy programme, The Duke and Duchess have decided to cut back The Duchess’s schedule slightly for the next couple of days, ahead of the final week and a half of the tour,” a source said.
Harry confirmed this when Meghan was absent from one of his recent engagements, saying that his wife was “resting back at home, being pregnant takes its toll.”
Meghan is only around 12 weeks along in her pregnancy, but Harry has already made it known what his preference is as to whether the baby is a boy or a girl. In a video posted to Instagram, a supporter can be heard telling him, “I hope it’s a girl!”
“So do I!” Harry replied.
This comes after Harry met a woman named Jessica and her daughter Harriet, who Harry took a liking to.
“As soon as I introduced my daughter to Harry, he said, ‘That’s a great name.'” Jessica said. “Maybe they will choose it for their own child, which would be fun.”
Odds are already being put down on what Harry would name his daughter if she is a girl, with the name “Victoria” at the top of the name heap at 8/1 odds. “Alice” is next at 12/1, while the third spot is held by “Elizabeth,” at 16/1 odds.
Meanwhile, “Alexander” is the top boy’s name at 7/1, with the names “Arthur” and “Philip” being tied at 8/1 odds in second place. The name “Albert” is third at 10/1 odds.
