Esmond Allock has 71 descendants, of which the youngest shares his great-great grandfather’s name. Allock was born outside of Moose, Jaw, Saskatchewan and is 108 years old. Jenna, baby Esmond’s mother, says her great-grandfather is a special person and she is lucky to have had him in her life.
He is so special, in fact, that she named her own son after him. She remembers spending time with Allock as a little girl. She recalls crawling up to him and saying “walk, walk” and then he’d take her into his arms and go for a walk.
When Jenna was pregnant with her second child, Allock told his wife, Jenna’s great-grandmother, that he had so many descendants but no one had named their children after him. He was a bit devastated because of that.

After learning that, Jenna knew exactly what she wanted to do. She told her husband she wanted to name their son after her great-grandfather and her husband liked the idea.
So once the baby was born, the happy parents couldn’t wait for the two namesakes to meet. Jenna was excited because she knew it was going to be something special. The most unusual part is that there is 107 year age gap between two of the people that Jenna loves the most.

When they arrived at Allock’s home, the elderly man felt immediate attraction for the baby, although he did have trouble remembering who Jenna was. That is, until he realized Jenna was his “walk, walk” girl.
Allock’s wish of having a baby named after him finally came true and he was happy beyond words. He made sure they knew how much it meant to them, but Jenna says it meant just as much to her.
