A hilarious joke is going viral this week that is sure to bring a smile to your face!

A symphony was performing Beethoven’s Ninth, which features a long passage of about 20 minutes. During this passage, the bass violinists have absolutely nothing to do.

Instead of just sitting onstage doing nothing, these violinists decided to sneak offstage to head to the tavern next door for a quick drink. Once they had slammed down a few beers in a brief amount of time, one of them looked at his watch and said, “Hey! We need to get back!”

“No need to panic,” said another one of the bass players. “I thought we might need some extra time, so I tied the last few pages of the conductor’s score together with string. It will take him at least a few minutes to untangle them.

They staggered back to the concert hall a few minutes later and made it back to their places in the orchestra.

As this was happening, a member of the audience noticed that the conductor seemed stressed about something, so she pointed this out to her companion.

“Well, of course,” her companion replied. “Don’t you see? It’s the bottom of The Ninth, the score is tied, and the bassists are loaded.”
