Four months ago, Bode and Morgan Miller were devastated when their 19 month-old daughter Emeline Grier drowned in a neighbor’s pool. It has just been announced that last Friday, Morgan gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Morgan was about five months pregnant when Emeline passed away, and the name of the boy has not yet been revealed. Lindsey Meehleis, who served as the Millers’ midwife, revealed that he was born at home in a birth pool just as Emeline was two years ago.

“Exactly one month before Emmy’s second birthday… the sun rose and they knew this day would be different. An overwhelming feeling of joy started to fill a valley of deep grief and sadness,” Lindsey said. “Morgan’s fingers grasped onto their son, who filled such empty arms. While nothing will ever replace the feeling of aching arms to hold Emmy again, this baby provided something new this day: joy, inspiration and hope.”

Bode and Morgan are also parents to 3 year-old Nash, and he has two older children from previous relationships, Samuel, 5, and Neesyn, 10.

Emeline tragically drowned in a pool on June 9 in the Coto de Caza neighborhood of Orange County, California. She was only in the water for 30 seconds before Morgan got to her, and though she was rushed to the hospital, she was unable to be resuscitated and passed away the next day.

“We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this,” Bode wrote on Instagram at the time. “Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to it’s fullest every day.”

“I wish I could have one more day to hold you, but until that day comes, continue to work through me and give me the strength to bring awareness, my love,” Morgan wrote in August. “I told you as I held you in this moment that you could still change the world, you could still move mountains.”

Please continue to keep the Miller family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
