Marty Hall Jr. is a tow truck driver that was on his way to a job in the hills of California when he saw something in the road up ahead. As he crept closer he saw that it was a dog.

To begin with, Marty thought the dog was a stray. Then he noticed that the dog was wearing a collar and had a leash attached to it. He immediately became suspicious.

Marty got out of the truck and tried to lure the dog closer with his sandwich and a bottle of water, but the dog wouldn’t budge. It just stayed sitting in the middle of the road.

That’s when Marty heard it. A faint cry for help. The dog trotted off toward the sound and Marty followed it. Down an embankment was an elderly man named Paul. He had fallen, hurt himself, and couldn’t move.

He had been there since early in the morning, but the dog refused to abandon its owner and had wandered to the road for help. The dog and Paul only live about a mile away.

A second dog had stayed by Paul’s side while the other went to get help for him. Luckily, Marty was the help Paul needed. He called 911 and an ambulance came to get Paul for treatment.

Check out the video of the rescue below and be sure to share this heroic story with your family and friends. Thank goodness Marty didn’t just drive on past that dog.
