Mason jars are all the rage in the crafting community right now, and it isn’t hard to see why! Not only are they the perfect decorations to have around the house, they also are a great way to recycle your used canning lids!

Now, mason jar lid pumpkins are being presented as a great way to decorate your house for the fall.

Here’s what you need to make one of these:

  • 20 mason jar lid rings
  • 1 can of orange spray paint
  • orange yarn or string
  • 4-5 cinnamon sticks

First, paint your mason jars orange and then let them dry. Once you have done this, thread your string through each of the lids, making sure that each of the rings face the same direction. Pull the string as tight as you can and tie it, and then cut off any leftover string.

After you have tied the string, separate the lids and make sure they are spaced apart evenly. Finally, put 4-5 cinnamon sticks in the middle for your pumpkin stem, and you’re all set!

To spice up these mason jars, you can use different colors or different sized lids to make the pumpkins different sizes. You can also add beads or wash tape to make the pumpkins look even more unique!

If you get this started now, you can have a great decoration that you can leave up through Halloween all the way to Thanksgiving! Crafts like this are part of what makes fall such a fun time of year!
