Oscar-winning actress and author Reese Witherspoon has admitted that she is under the spell of the Duchess of Cambridge after having the opportunity to meet her in 2011.

Witherspoon, who is 42, met Kate, 36, at the launch of Tusk Trust’s U.S. Patron’s Circle during a royal visit to Los Angeles. Now Witherspoon has revealed how that visit went and what she feels about the Duchess.

In her new book, “Whiskey in a Teacup” Witherspoon confirms her admiration for Prince William’s wife and says she screamed upon receiving the invitation to the event that the Duchess was scheduled to attend.

“She was just lovely and warm, elegant and composed,” said Witherspoon. “She also told a joke, and I immediately fell under her spell.” In her book, she explained she’d never been much of a Royal family fan until she met Kate.

Witherspoon was among a host of U.S. celebrities to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the star-studded event. Witherspoon says she got up at 4 a.m. to get ready and was thrilled that Kate was so approachable and friendly.

She says she is now a big fan of the Royals and says it takes a very special person to commit to that kind of life; to choose to be under public scrutiny every moment.
