When Loretta Young adopted her own biological daughter.

Loretta Young was one of the biggest stars of Hollywood’s golden age who also happened to be a devout Catholic. In 1935, Young had a steamy affair with Clark Gable while they filmed “Call of the Wild,” and she ended up being pregnant with his child out of wedlock. She proceeded to fake an elaborate illness for nine months, put the baby girl in an orphanage, and then adopt her months later. Young would stick to the story that the girl was not her biological child until the day she died!

When Carol Brady dated her son.

The Brady Bunch was one of the most popular shows of the 1970s. Florence Henderson starred on the show as Carol Brady, and believe it or not, she once went on a date with Barry Williams, who played her son Greg Brady! Williams wrote about the date in his autobiography, and though Henderson said that it was “blown way out of proportion,” she couldn’t help but agree that it was a good story.

Joan Crawford Starred In At Least One Adult Movie

Joan Crawford is one of Hollywood’s biggest icon but as a struggling actress in her teenage years, she had to resort to less than glamorous roles. It has been alleged that as a teenager, Crawford starred in a few pornographic films, including Velvet Lips, The Casting Couch, and The Plumber, just to make ends meet. Though the allegations have never been confirmed or proven to be true, Crawford’s first husband Douglas Fairbanks Jr. has stated that Crawford starred in at least one adult movie.

When a horror film turned into a real life tragedy.

Tragedy also struck on the set of Twilight Zone: The Movie when three people were killed. Director Jon Landis was shooting a scene set during the Vietnam War when a helicopter lost control and crashed, killing actor Vic Morrow and two child actors, Renee Shinn Chen and Myca Dinh Le. The incident led to major changes in the safety regulations in the movie industry.

When nobody was sure who murdered Lana Turner’s boyfriend.

The entire nation was stunned when top actress Lana Turner’s mobster boyfriend was found shot dead in her home. Turner’s 14-year-old daughter Cheryl Crane claimed that she had done it to protect her mother, but many have long suspected that the actress did it herself and had her daughter take the fall, assuming the jury would be sympathetic to a young offender. If this was her plan, she bet right because the case was ruled a justifiable homicide, and Crane served no prison time.
