A police officer was on patrol one night in an area that was an area that was known for being a spot where lovers hang out. The cop came upon a couple in a car that had it’s interior light on.

As he got closer to the car, the officer saw a young man behind the wheel, reading a book. He then saw a woman in the back seat knitting. Confused by this unusual situation, the officer walked up to the car and knocked on the driver’s window.

The young man lowered the window and said,  “Uh, yes, officer?”

“What are you doing?” the cop asked.

“Well Officer, I’m reading a book,” the young man replied.

“And her, what is she doing?” the officer asked as he pointed to the woman in the back seat.

“Sir, I believe she’s knitting a pullover sweater,” the young man said with a shrug.

The officer was totally baffled that a young couple was sitting in a car alone at night on a lover’s lane with absolutely nothing obscene going on.

“What’s your age, young man?” the officer asked.

“I’m 22, sir,” the young man replied.

“And her…what’s her age?” the cop asked.

The young man looked at his watch and said, “She’ll be 18 in 11 minutes.”
