Nothing is more scary than seeing a loved one in danger, even if that loved one is your pet. That’s how Marek Slodkowski felt when he realized his precious horse was stuck in a pit in his barn in Poland.

The maintenance pit had been covered with boards, but his horse named Freedom had fallen through the boards because of her weight. She went into the pit up to her sides and was unable to escape.

Marek tried to fill the hole with hay to help her get higher up in the pit to escape, but that didn’t work. As her condition weakened, Marek called in the fire department for help.

A large group of men arrived to free her from the pit. They took long straps and attempted to pull Freedom out of the pit, but that too failed to work. Her condition seemed to deteriorate even further and the team was running out of options to help the exhausted horse.

Finally, a miracle happened. Freedom, instead of giving up, decided to give it one last try. Check out the video of her rescue below and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
