The expectations that parents seem to have of schools these days is much different than what it used to be. Parents tend to rely on teachers to provide their children with knowledge and at the same time teach them manners.

But what is exactly is the school responsible for? Where do we draw the line between what is the teacher’s job and what is the parents’ duties to teach their child?

For some schools, there seems to be a gray area. That’s when one Portuguese school decided to clarify once and for all what exactly is expected from parents. The school have a poster hanging on the walls and the message they’re sending is spreading like wildfire.

This poster was shared on Facebook and the message it gave has spread around the world. The message highlights five points that the school claims should be taught by the parents.

While some of us may think that teaching our children basic manners and skills at home is a given, if you’ve ever spent time in a classroom you know that it’s pretty obvious that not all parents do their part.
