The Marines train intensively to serve in the United States Marine Corps. It’s no secret that they are a well-oiled machine, but when a recent video surfaced of a platoon of Marines doing a marching exercised called a “monkey drill” it has impressed thousands of people.
The video shows the platoon practicing the day before graduation and has since gone viral. TheDrillmaster.org explains that anyone who has completed this type of drill will admit that the drill is made up on the spot as they are performing it.
Yes, that means it is improvised on the spot, making it even more impressive as to how in tune they seem to be. TheDrillmaster.org says that to master the drill, recruits must have a high level of comfort with their equipment, a very wide vocabulary of moves and tricks, and the ability to think and just create while moving.

While some comments on the video have noted how impressed they were with the drill, not everyone had the same response. Some said it gave them goosebumps and they wished they could have seen it in person.
Another said it inspired him to want to go re-enlist in the military. “Keep the motivation coming man.” Another person said they never really liked drills but still said it was very impressive.
Regardless of your thoughts, you have to admit that this took practice, dedication, and precision. Check out the video of the drill below and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
