Little Addie Bryan was recently spotted in a certain neighborhood in Dallas, Texas holding a sign asking for donations for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital as her birthday gift. Addie owes a lot to this hospital, and she decided that it was time for her to give back!
Addie spent much of the early part of her childhood at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. She was always their either undergoing surgery, recovering or going through physical therapy. Addie was born with Larsen syndrome, which has caused her skeletal system to develop incorrectly. She was born with legs that were somewhat backward, and doctors were afraid that she would never be able to walk.
After undergoing four surgeries and around 65 casts to fix her legs, Addie can now run and play just like any other kid!

“I just hold a sign that says, ‘For my birthday wish, I want to raise $8,000 for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital,’” Addie explained.
Addie’s endeavor went viral, and it quickly became clear that she would greatly surpass her $8,000 goal. In fact, her campaign eventually raised nearly $20,000! That’s when a donor sent Addie a letter praising her efforts as well as a check for $50,000!

Addie’s family could not afford the bills for her medical care, so they relied on the donations of kind strangers to get their daughter the care that she needed. She knows firsthand just how important the donations she raised will be in the lives of other children in need!

We applaud this little girl for deciding to take the time to raise money so that other sick kids will get the help they need!
