Bella is a shelter dog who has had a very rough life.

She spent most of her life in a concrete kennel in a Romanian city pound. Bella was rarely allowed to even go outside, and she has had little contact with humans. When she was found, Bella had fleas as well as issues with her spleen and liver that had gone untreated.

Thankfully, the rescue group Howl of the Dog was able to step in and save Bella just in time! A staff member was visiting the pound and noticed Bella. The dog immediately licked the palm of the worker when she held her hand out to her, and it was clear that the canine just wanted someone to love her.

Howl of the Dog rescued Bella that day and immediately rushed her to a veterinarian. She seemed to be very relaxed as soon as she got to the shelter.

“She seemed to have instantly understood that she was being rescued and that she’s safe,” a Howl of a Dog spokesman said.

As soon as Bella got to the shelter, it became apparent that she loves people. She immediately sat down next to her rescuer and fell asleep right in her lap!

“She was so trusting and relieved to be finally rescued that she simply fell asleep in my arms while we were heading to the veterinary clinic,” Howl of a Dog posted on Facebook.

The veterinarian ended up giving Bella supplements for her spleen and liver, as well as a medicated bath that helped get rid of her fleas and reduced her itchiness.

In the weeks since she was rescued, Bella has completely transformed into a happy and healthy dog.

“Bella is doing fine now, receiving all the care she needs to regain her health and joy,” Howl of the Dog said. “Once she’s completely recovered she will be up for adoption.”

Life hasn’t always been easy for Bella, but we’re so glad to see that she is finally in a safe and loving place!
