Divorce is something that can be incredibly hard on children, as they often find it very difficult to accept that their parents are breaking up. With their parents no longer together, their holidays, vacation, and all around daily life will change in numerous ways.

If the parents can put their differences aside and learn to co-parent together effectively, children can start to feel better as their family begins to adjust to the changes and learn to work cohesively together as a team.

Co-parenting has been shown to have many positive effects on children, including improving their behavior and  school work. It can also help them maintain healthier relationships in the future.

Laura Dee is a parent who knows just how difficult co-parenting can be, but she has managed to work it out with her ex-husband. Though they have been divorced for eight years, Laura and her husband devised a plan to surprise their children by having their father join them on vacation! They knew that their divorce had been hard on their children, so they decided to do something to lift their spirits and remind them that they are still a family.

“As parents seeing our children upset is hard, all we want is to make our children happy,” Laura said. “Co-parenting is hard for many people but we are proud of what we have achieved with bringing our children up.”

Laura and her children, Darcie and Callum, were at the airport preparing to fly to Cyprus when their dad suddenly appeared in the crowd and surprised them. Darcie and Callum were both shocked and elated when they realized that he would be joining them! The two kids were so overcome with joy that they burst into tears.

This emotional video serves as a reminder of just how important co-parenting can be. Check out the video for yourself below!
