Grizzly bears are known for being some of the biggest and most majestic creatures in all of the animal kingdom, but we rarely think of them as animals that enjoy hanging out with humans. Casey Anderson is a man who is trying to change this perception by publicizing the bond he has with a grizzly bear named Brutus!
Casey first met Brutus when he rescued him from being euthanized at an overpopulated wildlife park. He quickly noticed that Brutus was a natural performer who was very comfortable around people. He realized that the grizzly bear was perfect for the role of teaching park visitors about grizzly anatomy and conservation, and for starring in educational videos and even feature films and television shows.

“Brutus has been a huge part of my life. He’s sort of like, well he actually was, my best man,” said Casey.

“Together they have worked on feature films, television shows, and commercials,” a biography of the pair on the Grizzly Encounters website reads. “When they are not on set they spend their days at Montana Grizzly Encounter, a bear rescue and education facility that Casey founded in 2004, located in Bozeman, Montana. Whether they are educating the public on grizzly conservation, wrestling in the grass, or on a location, this tandem loves what they do.”
It’s truly touching to see how close two creatures of different species can be! Find out more about their incredible bond in the video below!
