Today’s world can be scary. We have to stay aware of our surroundings because danger seems to be lurking around every corner. But thanks to one tiny, but tenacious school crossing guard, one little girl is safe at home.

Adrian Young is a crossing guard at Alexandria Avenue Elementary School and though she’s tiny in stature, takes her duties very seriously. More so, her job doesn’t stop once a child safely gets to the sidewalk.

A little girl was on her way to school one day when a woman attempted to grab her. The little girl started screaming for help and telling Adrian that the woman wasn’t her mom.

Adrian grabbed the little girl and held onto her tightly and told the little girl to hold on to her as tightly as she could. The kidnapper began attacking Adrian who was sheltering the little girl.

Despite her petite frame, Adrian was able to fight away the attacker. She says there was no way that little girl was going to be kidnapped on her shift. The kidnapper was later arrested.
