Sometimes we like to think that we are the only ones that really know what is going on in the world. But one recent encounter with an octopus that was caught on video just proves that even sea creatures have a soul and consciousness.

One day, Pei Yan Hang was walking along the Cyrene Beach in Portugal when he saw an octopus that had beached up on the sand. The poor creature had turned pale and was gasping for air.

It had likely been washed ashore during high tides. But thanks to Pei, the octopus wouldn’t have to suffer much longer. He scooped the octopus up in a cup and took it back to the water.

Gently, he lowered the octopus into the shallow waters and watched in amazement as the octopus began springing back to life. It began breathing again and color returned to its body.

But the story isn’t over yet. Instead of rushing back into the sea, the creature turned it’s attention to Pei. The octopus walked up to his boot and placed one tentacle on the boot as if to say thank you.

The octopus rested it’s tentacle on the boot for a few seconds before backing up and beginning it’s trek back out into the water. It was obviously a sincere gesture of gratitude.
