Traffic came to a standstill on a busy highway in Griffin, Georgia, and drivers were livid for the standstill. That is, until they realized why traffic had come to a halt.

E’Ondria Weems says she was one of the motorists confused by the lull in traffic until she saw a man named Justin Jackson standing in the middle of the road. It was raining and he had parked his car haphazardly across both lanes.

He abandoned his truck and sprinted into the busy four-lane road. It took just moments before Weems finally realized what Jackson was doing.

Jackson had seen an elderly man attempting to cross the road in the pouring rain. He relied on a walker and wasn’t moving very fast. The traffic whizzed past him and Jackson was terrified for the man.

Weems grabbed a video of the incident and shared it to social media where Jackson has received tons of praise for his actions. He says he was simply doing what he thought needed to be done.
