An 11 year-old boy was recently enjoying a day at the beach when he came upon a young girl trapped in a sand cave. Thinking fast, he immediately went to work to rescue her…
Alyssa Bostic, 5, had been playing in the sand at the Marina Dunes with her friends when she decided that she would be able to fit into a small cave she had created while digging. Sadly for her, the cave collapsed once she was inside it, leaving her trapped underneath the sand.
Connor Fitz-Gerald, 11, had been playing right where Alyssa’s cave was, and he quickly noticed that something was not right. When he saw Alyssa’s bag in the sand, he felt that something was wrong and immediately started digging. That’s when he found her buried in the sand!

Connor didn’t see any adults around, so he knew it was up to him to save her. He tried to figure out where Alyssa’s head would be and started digging frantically. Though he was able to pull her out of the sand, Alyssa was not breathing properly. Luckily, Connor was able to perform CPR on the little girl. He had never been taught how to do this, but he knew how to do it from watching television shows like “NCIS.”

Thanks to Connor’s quick thinking, Alyssa has made a full recovery!
“I am glad he was able to sit back and go, wait a minute something’s going on, there’s not a parent here, I know they’re at least a quarter mile away, I need to do something,” said Connor’s father, Tim Fitz-Gerald.
Thank God Connor was there to save this little girl! Find out more about this in the video below, and SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
